It looks like you have a Long Island painting project that needs to get completed sometime soon. Your house needs a new color on the outside. Maybe you just moved into a new home and you haven’t even figured out the colors for all of the rooms yet. Or maybe you need to paint your office to match your profession.

Whatever your reasons, you need skilled New York painters and you need them now. Before you jump the gun and hire the first set of names in the phone book you need to consider some things. There are lots of painting contractors out there on Long Island. Who is the best? Who can do what you need? Consider the following before making any decisions:

1. Look at similar places in the area – if it is your home that needs painting, look at your neighbors. If someone else painted their homes, find out who and see if you can get in touch with them. If it is your office building, look at similar buildings and speak to the owner about which commercial painting contractors they hired.

2. Consider the experience level – it is possible for you to get a great deal when hiring a contractor, but that could be for a reason. If the contractor and his workers are not very experienced they may charge less, but they may also do inferior work. Your property could look like a disaster area at the end of the job! Ask any contractors you consider about their experience, and ask them to provide references.

3. Follow up on references – If you are really interested in the work of a particular contractor, follow up on any references he gives you. See what past customers have to say about the work they did, and whether or not you can come out and see for yourself how they performed. Be sure to ask about the condition of their property when the painters left. Did they clean up after themselves? Was any of the yard or landscaping damaged or destroyed?

Follow these few steps, and you will be well on your way to finding a great set of Long Island painters for your next project.
