What Colors Should Your Commercial Painting Contractors Use?

Commercial painting contractors that serve Long Island come across a lot of interesting color schemes in the offices they paint.  We’ve certainly come across our fair share.  Which color scheme is going to be best for you and your workers?  Well, it depends on what you want out of it.

Most offices tend to be painted in soft, neutral colors such as beige, light tan, and white.  These are deemed to be the least offensive to the average set of human eyes.  This is ideal for a large office environment where there are many different people with many different tastes.  Colleges and government buildings tend to follow this same line of thinking, as well.

Speaking of government buildings, have you noticed that all government offices tend to be painted the exact same color whether they’re controlled by the city, county, or state?  It’s a little creepy, don’t you think?

Aside from the offices taking the Switzerland approach, we have also come across some offices where the colors are, well, radical, for lack of a better term.  Bright neon colors, dark and bold reds and blues, earthy browns and greens.  All colors are fine if they’re in the right place.  The bright neon colors might not be the best choice in a law firm or accountants’ office, but in a pediatrician’s office they would be ideal.  Kids get bored with plain white colors, and as a result they tend to want to draw all over such surfaces.  Likewise, the earth colors tend to have a soothing effect on the eyes and may be better suited for a masseuse’s office or a yoga studio than they would for, say, a brokerage firm where the pressure needs to be on to make that sale.

What atmosphere do you want to promote in your business?  Strictly professional?  Loose and creative?  A soothing and relaxing environment?  Determine what you need, then get the best Long Island painters in to paint your office.  And if you’re unsure what would be best for you, ask your contractor!  Chances are they’ve done so many offices they’ll be able to pick the correct choice fairly quickly.  You will be well on your way to getting a great painting cost estimate.
